Black X Burgundy

Black is definitely the easiest color to wear when winter is in full swing. Accessorizing my black outfit with some burgundy accent pieces brings a touch of freshness to my look. I have to say that these two colors represent my favourite combination of the season. I complemented this black Calvin Klein Dress with a minimalistic black leather Rudsak belt. I also simply cannot omit to mention my absolutely favourite Mackage Cross Body Bag! This bag is very spacious and comfortable because of its shoulder strap. It is perfect when balancing style with everyday living.

The Christmas Spirit

The holidays are right around the corner! Decorating your home, listening to joyful Christmas songs (who doesn’t love Michael Bublé`s Christmas album?!), and watching classic Christmas moves are some of my favourite things to do to put me in the Christmas spirit. What’s better than watching Home Alone during a big winter snowstorm? Christmas has its own aroma- to me Christmas is the smell of tangerines and roasted chestnuts. What’s yours? . And how could I forget, Christmas Shopping -my absolute favourite winter activity. One thing is for sure; gift selection must absolutely be tackled in advanced! Do not-and I repeat do not leave your Christmas shopping to the last minute!! This turns it into a huge hassle rather than a pleasure. Last but certainly not least, spoil your loved ones and create unforgettable memories together!

Marcelle Women

Dear ladies, today, I would like to share with you the marvellous experience I had with Marcelle Women. This fabulous evening took place at Hotel Le Crystal, where I had the great pleasure of meeting the beautiful actress Karine Vanasse, who plays the up and coming magazine maven Margaux LeMarchal in the hit television drama, Revenge. I also got the chance to meet up with Montreal Beauty Guru Jean François CD who was generous enough to share some key make-up tips and tricks with me. Now don’t you worry, I will be sharing these exclusive beauty tips with you all very shortly so stay tuned! I have to say everything about that evening was absolutely perfect! Not only did I have the opportunity to meet and network with other fashion and beauty bloggers and the like but I also had the chance to discover new Marcelle Beauty Products in my oh so lovely swag bag; I am simply in love with their new BB Foundation Cream; it makes your skin look smooth and flawless. You definitely need to give it a try!

Let the Layering Game Begin

Hello dear readers, it goes without saying that the colder it gets outside, the more we tend to bundle up before we head out. It can sometimes be quite the task to put together with all those layers on. Today, however, I want to share with you some tricks that will make the layering process less of a hassle and more of a pleasure! This post, therefore, is about being warm and elegant all in one. In the photos below, the core of the outfit is an absolutely stunning sky blue H&M dress with thick and super appropriate materials for this season. Best part, it is very comfortable! I complemented the look with this crisp, white Zara coat. Now ladies and gents, I know what you are thinking: that I’ve gone crazy because white gets dirty very quickly. Let me assure you I have not lost my mind. The trick is to find a coat that is machine washable; no need for dry cleaning! Finally, the faux fur is an accent piece that ties together the entire look and what’s more important, it keeps me warm! Remember, it’s all about finding that balance between warmth and fashion.

For those still unsure on how the layering world works, here are some general guidelines to remember: Color combinations should match. In this case, a game of cold pastels was employed. Secondly, fabrics must compliment each other. I combined thick material with faux fur!

I hope you guys like the final result and above all, I hope it helps you in your daily outfit styling.

The Yellow Trench Coat

Fall is officially upon us and although it's not my favourite season, I still have to admit it's a beautiful time of the year what with the crisp, cool breeze, bright leaves blanketing the ground and the overwhelming smell of pumpkin spice lattes.

Last Sunday, on a superb October day, I opted for a chic, yet quite simple, outfit to wear out to a baptism. Though the weather is getting colder and colder, our closet need not mimic nature. Temperatures might be cooling off, but our wardrobe should be anything but drab and dreary. I'm all for keeping our outfits warm and colourful and sometimes all that's needed is a pop of something rich and bold. I added a touch of colour by combining my all black attire with this bright, yellow Zara trench coat that I simply adore. What can I say, it was love at first sight!

Keep it bright guys! And if anyone is in need of some extra inspiration to brighten up an outfit look no further than the beautiful, rich-coloured leaves carpeting the ground.

Urban Chic

After having spent my fair share of autumns in Montreal, I've come to realize, as have most, that temperatures above freezing are a rarity after September 23rd. This is, of course, an exaggeration, but, warm fall days can be hard to come by! With September now sadly behind us, and all trace of summer moving further and further from our reach, I think all Montrealers would agree with me when I say that September had been good to us. Though those rare warm and sunny days were few and far between, we were lucky enough to have several in which scarves and jackets were traded in, though momentarily, for air conditioning and driving with the top down. Sigh, I miss it already.

A friend and I took advantage of the exceptional weather one fall day and treated ourselves to lunch at an adorable spot in the city. Moxie's Grill & Bar has something for everyone, the perfect dish for every palate. With a wide variety of pizzas, pastas, steaks, burgers and more, Moxie is sure to cater to every foodie. From one lover of food to another, the pasta was superb... I won't even get started on the wine!

Switching now to my outfit, I opted for something chic yet comfortable. Balance is always the key. The “loose” look is definitely in this season (ladies, this is a bonus). Over-sized blazers, jackets and sweaters are all must have items for the upcoming fall-winter months. On that note, thank you September for being so good to us!

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana, otherwise known as paradise, is the easternmost province of the tropical island in the Caribbean that is the Dominican Republic. Traditional Caribbean music greeted us at the arrival gate in addition to a much warmer, more tropical climate. Our stay was phenomenal from takeoff to landing; so much so, that leaving was almost unfathomable. The flight crew was very helpful and pleasant. From the airport, we were provided with direct transportation to our hotel. Our stay was at the Riu Bambu. This hotel is a member of the Riu Hotel Chain which lists several beautiful hotels in Punta Cana alone: the Riu Palace, the Riu Palace Bavaro, the Riu Palace Macao and the Riu Bambu are only a handful of the many stunning, and captivating Riu properties. Included in our stay was a complimentary shuttle service, leaving at ten minute intervals, that offered passage between different hotels. Though they were within walking distance from one another, the shuttle is a convenient and efficient alternative after a long day lounging by the beach, splashing in the pool and sipping on one too many piña coladas. Our hotel was equipped with a casino, spa, gym and even a night club at the disposition of it's guests. It truly was paradise both in and out of the hotel. Our vacation was booked through Sunwing Vacations and I firmly believe that taking both quality and price into consideration, it is indeed a great destination spot for a getaway with family or friends. I am confident you won't regret it... I certainly didn't!
